Which provides better protection: a dark or a white parasol?
Every parasol in the garden casts shade during the day, but not every garden parasol automatically protects against harmful UV rays. The UV protection of a parasol in the garden depends on the weight, density and material of the parasol canopy. Commonly used coatings such as Teflon® and Scotchgard®, for example, only affect the water permeability of a canopy, but not the UV resistance of parasol fabric. Glatz uses UV-stabilised fabrics for its canopies. This means that we guarantee a high UV protection of more than 98 per cent for all garden parasols.
Do white canopies turn yellow?
A high-quality parasol is characterised by very high lightfastness. The better the lightfastness, the longer it takes for the fabric to fade. Thanks to possible lightfastness levels of 7 to 8 – depending on which fabric quality you choose – you will enjoy your white Glatz parasol for many years after your purchase.
Are white parasols difficult to keep in good condition?
Stains from use are unavoidable with any parasol, regardless of its colour. Small stains on the white fabric can generally be brushed off quickly. White parasols are no more delicate in this respect than others.
What material is used for the white fabric?
For parasols with fabrics of fabric quality 4, a spun-dyed staple-fibre polyester fabric (100%) is used. A polyacrylic fabric (100%) is used for fabric quality 5. Both materials excel in terms of lightfastness due to their high quality and a remarkably long fading period.
A white parasol is available as a classic centre-pole parasol or as a cantilever parasol. You can also choose between a frame made of wood or aluminium.
